Egypt and Egyptian Garden Mandala

In March I went to Egypt. This had been on my list of places to visit for a long time, and I absolutely loved it!
The view from the hotel room, you can imagine how excited I was when I saw that view!

The wonderful Egyptian Museum

We spend 4 fabulous day on a Nile cruise

Me in my galabia

Anyway on to stitching, and since I had been to Egypt, I had to start my Egyptian Garden Mandala by Chatelaine Designs.

I have been rather remiss in my posting so I shall try harder! I do enjoy watching flosstube though, maybe one day I will do my own.

I am going back to Egypt in December so I am very excited about that!

Happy stitching!

Chenonceau Finished!

Finally it's finished!!!

Chenonceau Loire Castle
By Chatelaine Designs

I started this in July 2016, so in the scheme of things it didn't really take me too long (I am a slow stitcher and have 1000 other WIPs as well)

Of to get it framed now and I think I will get out my Lake Como Mandala and do some of that.

Progress so far...

Happy stitching!

New Starts, WIPs and Finishes...

Finishes?? Well no, not exactly. Chenonceau is finished except for beads, photo to come later.

However I have had good progress on The Met by Mirabilia

Early Americans series by Little House Needleworks, I'm doing this as one big piece

Moroccan Town by Chatelaine, sadly the designer Martina Rosenberg passed away in December and she will be greatly missed by all Chatelaine stitchers

Christmas at the Villa by Madeleine Findley

Let Freedom Ring by Lilia's Studio, this was my Christmas Eve start

and finally Christmas At Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House Samplings, my New Years start, I'm using NPI silks for this

Stash was from the Glendon Place sale, I love these charts!

I also got this framed (after finishing it in 2015!)
Pattini d' Argento by Cuore e Batticuore

I should be able to post a photo of my finished Chenonceau next time as there aren't that many beads to put on.

Happy stitching!

WIPs and Stash

Another update on Chenonceau

I have started on the outer border so not far to go!

I have also had another start.... Opps!

28 count Ivory evenweave

This is another Chatelaine Design called Pompeji, I'm loving the colours so far!

I have also had these Teresa Wentzler charts for a long time, so I finally purchased some fabric to start them

Magical Night will be stitched on 28 count Ice Blue evenweave and Carousel I have 28 count Grey evenweave. Never ever again will I do a Teresa Wentzler piece on 32 count linen, I value my sanity lol.

I have also brought New York by Thea Gouverneur. Now this has 18 count aida in the kit and I will not be using that, mostly because I don't like aida much so I think I will get some evenweave 28 count. It is stitched with one strand and I am considering using 2 strands. Obviously there won't be enough thread in the kit so I will have to match up from my DMC threads . Has anyone used 2 strands? How does it look?

So all up I have a few things to get on with and the stash grows bigger and bigger!

Happy stitching!
