Loire Castle - Chenonceau Update

I haven't posted about Chenonceau (Chatelaine Design)for a while and since I have done quite a bit since the last photos of this I decided it needed it's own post!

Before -

 After -

I have started doing some back stitching on the windows, mostly because there is heaps of it and I would rather do a bit now instead of having all of it to do at the end.

I will endeavour to blog more often but I just get so busy with work and stuff!

Well since I had some time on my hands today, I got out all my WIPs and UFOs to have a look at and cringe about how many I have

Basically here is the list:

I really like her designs but I really don't like the huge amounts of backstitching and blended threads, in saying that I have 2 of her designs on the go...

Finishes!

I am rather remiss in my postings but anyway here I am again.

I actually have finished 2 cross stitches!!!

The first is Afternoon in Provence

The second finish is the Eiffel Tower bookmark which I still have to make up

Lake Como mandala is coming along nicely, I am on the second villa and hopefully I can finish that soon. I usually only work on this at weekends hence it takes me a while to do.

Before

After

Unfortunately you can't see the sparklies in the fabric which makes it look really nice.

I am trying really really hard to finish some WIP and we all know sometime you just lose the mojo to finish a particular WIP that you have been doing for years, I know I have quite a few of those! I don't really have a rotation, I just stitch what I feel like doing but sometime I have an urge to dig out some old ones and put a few more stitches in.

It is coming into winter here so that usually means more stitching time!

New Year Beginnnings - Be it a Bit Late!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! I know, I know it's February!

For me it was really quiet, New Years eve was spent at home watching movies on TV! Not that I really minded, it was nice to sit down and write down what I wanted for the year coming up.

I had 3 new starts for this year, yes 3! Like I need more WIPs! Though there isn't much to show on these hence no photos.

I also had 2 finishes so far, hooray!!!

Pattini d' Argento
By Cuore e Batticuore
Stitched on 32-count natural Belfast Linen
Recommended Floss

Parisian Street Scene
By Maria Diaz
28-count Lugana
Recommended Floss

I don't know when I started these exactly but they are now finished!

Another update on Italian View
Before-

 After-

Lately I have been watching Stargate Atlantis, unfortunately they only made 5 seasons of this but it is my absolute favourite!

Hopefully it won't be too long before my next post but since being back at work I have been so busy, work really interferes with my stitching!

Putting up the Christmas Tree

Yes the christmas tree is up!

No presents under the tree yet is that is my job for this weekend! I am also toying with the idea of a tree skirt, has anybody stitched one? If you have, do they look good?

Also coming along well is my Christmas project

After:

Pattini d'Argento
By Cuore e Batticuore

Hopefully and fingers crossed I may have this finished before Christmas? Maybe...

We have had some very hot days here the last 2 weeks, 30+ degree days which is nice but I'm always inside at work! :(  boohoo...hopefully the weekend is nice and hot.

I have 3 more weeks of work before the Christmas break which I am very much looking forward to. I have stitching, walking, cycling and more stitching planned on my time off and I can't wait!!!

Here is Gingalicious enjoying the sun...

WIP Update

The few WIPs I have been working on needed an update, so here they are!

Afternoon in Provence by Dimensions

I have nearly finished the first picture, just some back stitching to do

Next is Parisian Street Scene by Maria Diaz

This also is nearly finished, just a few more stitches to put in and back stitching to complete

Pattini d' Argento by Cuore e Batticuore

I love this one, simple and fast to stitch up! Also their other patterns are divine!

And lastly Italian View

Before:

After:

There is quite a bit of confetti stitching on the outside of this which does drive me a bit mad but I will get there eventually!

Daylight savings has started here in New Zealand so now I can go for run/walks and cycling after working which makes me very very happy! Bring on Summer!!!

Happy stitching!
