Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone! I know it's a bit late, but better late than never! I have 11 days off work, so I have managed to get a lot of stitching done and lots of biking. Anyway here are some updated pictures of Handmade, with Love, which I have nearly finished but I have run out of a couple of thread colours which I will get in the next couple of days. Here is also an update on the Carousel Horse by Teresa Wentzler. I now have finished unpicking the old threads in the horses neck and I have redone 2 of the colours. I have also started doing some of the back stitching on the tail, a start of many hours of back stitching! Because this cross stitch is my oldest WIP, I am trying very hard to get it finished. It may not look like it, but I don't like unfinished things! So I am trying very hard to get this finished in 2012 - there, thats my first new years resolution! Here is another WIP I would like to get finished in 2012, and this one is a wonderful Chatelaine design c

The 16 Year Old Cross Stitch

Firstly an update on the Handmade, with Love cross stitch. As you can see I haven't done much stitching since the last post, but at least I have done some! I really love stitching with 3 threads, it makes it much easier! This is a picture of the finished cushion, which I will get some nice spotty or retro fabric to back the cushion with. I will also endeavour to post some pictures of my WIPS - now there is quite a few of them so I will feature one WIP each post. The first WIP is my oldest cross stitch, and I think I have been doing it for about 16 years...Why haven't I finished it? Well because its a very difficult pattern (as most Teresa Wentzler patterns are) and I picked it up after about 10 years of not doing anything on it, and found that some of the grey DMC cottons have changed slightly in those years - serves me right for not finishing it in a respectable time frame! Anyway after putting out a SOS for some old DMC cottons that someone has from years ago - A big

Welcome to my new stitching blog! Having seen a lot of other stitchers interesting blogs, I have decided to start one of my own, and I am hoping to include lots of photos of my projects. I mostly only have time to stitch on weekends, as I am usually busy with work and cycle training during the week, as well as learning French, so my time is quite limited weekdays but more than make up for it at the weekend, where I can plonk myself down in from the TV and watch DVDs or programmes I recorded during the week and just stitch for the whole weekend. First up is my latest WIP which is a cushion from Britain's No.1 Cross Stitcher magazine. Its called Handmade, with Love. I really love the retro colours in this and combined with using 3 threads instead of 2, it gives it a real chunky look. It also has some buttons stitched on for a 3D look. so far it has been really enjoyable and easy to stitch, and using 3 threads is and nice change. Fabric: 25-count Taupe evenweave Floss: DMC M
