It's Nearly Christmas!!!

Image
1 more sleep to go!! I am very excited because I love Christmas and this year I am spending Christmas with my very dear friends in Sydney. I have one more day of work left on Monday, which is a little annoying having to go back to work for one day but anyway can't do much about that! Have have done quite a bit of stitching lately, first of all I finished something!!! Yes folks it's a miracle!!!! Beatrix Potter Alphabet And I have done some more on the Multiplication Sampler, which is coming along nicely. Before: After: I also spent a weekend in Sydney on the 5th-9th December at the V8 Super car race. I had a great time and picked up the Hawaii Five-0 themed race suit I won on eBay. So I spent one day in the pits with then Fujitsu Race Team, met the driver and had a jolly good chat to one of the engineers (as I am planning on being a mechanical engineer) The Hawaii Five-0 race suit, it even fits me! (it was soooo hot to wear though) I plan to

Finally my exam is over! I had a 3 hour calculus and algebra exam which went actually pretty well, so hopefully I pass but I don't find out until early January. Which also means on the stitching front that I haven't don't done hardly any stitching for about 6 weeks while I was studying, though I have done a bit this week, but here are the updates anyway... Lake Como Before- After- Italian View Before- After- So overall not very much progress at all! I also had the honour of modelling a dress in a fashion show for a designer friend of mine, her collection was Parisian inspired and my dress was called "Parisian Springtime" It was so much fun to be a model and Lucy (the designer) also does everyone's hair and makeup! She is one very talented lady. Here are a few photos of my dress, but I can't show any others as she is entering them in competitions so they cannot be publicly photographed otherwise they get disqualified.  The &

Exam! Yikes! Exam!

Just a very quick post, today I have my maths exam which is why I haven't posted for such a long time! I have been studying and stressing for 6 weeks!! Anyway after my exam this afternoon I will do a big post of my updates...not that there is much to show! but lots of other stuff has been going on! Michelle

Too Much Time Watching the America's Cup...Not enough Stitching

Image
Gosh has it been over a month since my last post! I have been so busy lately with work and study, I just have no time to do anything much. I do have a small update on Lake Como... Before: After: Other than Lake Como I haven't done any stitching much apart from a new start - The View It came with Aida but I really don't like using aida so I swapped it out for lugana which is much nice to stitch with. My Mum however has been busy making me some WIP bags. She used my stash of french inspired fabric I have and made up these wallet type bags for me, fully lined and finished with some vintage buttons my Nana gave to me. I love them! and they fit my projects perfectly. and some new stash! (like I need more..) I have also been going to adult ballet classes, I have always wanted to do ballet and finally they have adult class here in Christchurch. it is so much fun! I have never danced at all in any form so it is very new to me, but our teacher makes

Spring is coming!

Or at least I think it is! The last few days have been rather warm, I even went out on my bike and didn't have to wear numerous layers of clothing! Could be wishful thinking though... I have a couple of updates, first is the Paris cushion Before- After- There isn't any back stitching on this so I am nearly finished :) Next is the Multiplication sampler Before- After- A wee way to go on this but it's getting there! Lake Como has come to stand still but I will get it out again in the next few weeks. I had been watching the Tour de France over the last few weeks which was great, though I got really depressed watching the beautiful weather in France compared to the freezing cold here, and I also has friends over there watching it, so I was very jealous! Anyway my favourite rider Jakob Fuglsang got 7th overall.  Happy stitching everyone Michelle

Le Tour

Le Tour de France starts in 4 days! I am so excited, though not so excited at the prospect at having to stay up into the wee hours of the morning to watch it, France is 12 (or is it 11?) hours behind us here in New Zealand, either way I usually record it and watch it next day. This year my favourite rider Jakob Fuglsang, is the leader of the Astana team, so I'm hoping he does really well. Any excuse to post a picture of Jakob... Anyway onto the stitching... First up is the Multiplication Sampler Before- After- Next up is Lake Como, I haven't done much on this Before- After- Paris Before- After- I am starting a new job in the next two weeks which is fulltime so I will be very busy working, studying and trying to do some stitching, and watching the Tour de France, it's going to be a very busy July! Happy Stitching! Michelle

Lake Como

Image
It's been far too long since my last post, but I have been busy stitching! First up is Lake Como Mandala, I have made a small start on this- Using 32 count white lugana sparklies Recommended threads I am also coming along nicely with the Multiplication sampler- Before- After- And lastly but not least, the little Paris cushion (well it will be one day...) Before- After- I also have been outdoors on my bike for the first time after my shoulder operation, though I did pick the windiest day of the month to go out! Shoulder was a bit sore after but it's coming along nicely 12 weeks post-op. Bring on summer! (even if it is 6 months away) Happy stitching! Michelle

My Little French Obssesion

There hasn't been a whole lot of stitching going on since I finished Tuscany Town, I am now back at work so   even though that's good because I get a decent pay packet now, I don't have the time I use to for stitching! I have how ever been working on the Multiplication Sampler, and this actually stitches up quite fast because you only use one colour. Before- After- I have also brought another Chatelaine! The new addition is Lake Como I already have some fabric - 32-count white sparkles from Country Stitch, so all I need now is some threads... I have started a new project, it's called Je T'aime by Anette Eriksson, out of the February issue of the Cross Stitcher magazine. Fabric 28-count Linen DMC thread It uses 3 strands of thread so uses up a lot of thread rather quickly, but looks great! I will be making it into a cushion (one day...) I was having a clean out of my cupboards the other day and found all sorts of trea
