Another update on Chenonceau





I have started on the outer border so not far to go!

I have also had another start.... Opps!

28 count Ivory evenweave

This is another Chatelaine Design called Pompeji, I'm loving the colours so far!

I have also had these Teresa Wentzler charts for a long time, so I finally purchased some fabric to start them


Magical Night will be stitched on 28 count Ice Blue evenweave and Carousel I have 28 count Grey evenweave. Never ever again will I do a Teresa Wentzler piece on 32 count linen, I value my sanity lol.

I have also brought New York by Thea Gouverneur. Now this has 18 count aida in the kit and I will not be using that, mostly because I don't like aida much so I think I will get some evenweave 28 count. It is stitched with one strand and I am considering using 2 strands. Obviously there won't be enough thread in the kit so I will have to match up from my DMC threads . Has anyone used 2 strands? How does it look?

So all up I have a few things to get on with and the stash grows bigger and bigger!

    Chenonceau is gorgeous! Love your new start as well. Can't comment on the Thea Gouverneur kit as I haven't stitch one... sorry - look forward to seeing your progress on your planned starts though :o)

    Your Chenonceau project looks absolutely great. And your new start already looks very promising with the colours it uses.
    Good luck with your TW projects.
    I have never stitched anything by Thea Gouverneur and don't know the design you have in mind. I think you just have to try it out if you like it on 28 ct :)

    Great progress on Chenonceau. Pompeji is amazing when finished - those colors just pop.

The Premier Exhibit

It's finished!!! I finally finished Tuscany Town mandala on Friday, I had to finish it by then so I could enter it in the Oxford A&P show. And I won! 1st prize, premier exhibit and most outstanding cross stitch! I can't believe I have actually finished it! It has taken about 2 years, which is quite a while but I don't really spend huge amounts of time stitching every week. I also started the Multiplication Sampler by the Historical Sampler Company, this chart was very kindly lent to me by Nicola . This chart is now out of print so I was very lucky that Nicola could lend me hers! I also got some more stash!  I'm really looking forward to doing one of the Scarlet Letter  samplers, as they have lots of specialty stitches which I love to do! My Little French Obssesion

There hasn't been a whole lot of stitching going on since I finished Tuscany Town, I am now back at work so   even though that's good because I get a decent pay packet now, I don't have the time I use to for stitching! I have how ever been working on the Multiplication Sampler, and this actually stitches up quite fast because you only use one colour. Before- After- I have also brought another Chatelaine! The new addition is Lake Como I already have some fabric - 32-count white sparkles from Country Stitch, so all I need now is some threads... I have started a new project, it's called Je T'aime by Anette Eriksson, out of the February issue of the Cross Stitcher magazine. Fabric 28-count Linen DMC thread It uses 3 strands of thread so uses up a lot of thread rather quickly, but looks great! I will be making it into a cushion (one day...) Trophies and a Party

Well I had an interesting weekend, we had our prize giving for the Time Trial club and I won a trophy! Actually I didn't win it for this season, I won it last season but we didn't have a prize giving and no one had told me I had won it! Needless to say I was very pleased with myself and it was fun seeing MY name engraved on the trophy! Here I am feeling very pleased with myself... You may remember from my last post I was going to my friends 40th birthday party, well we had an awesome time and stayed up until 4am! A good time was had by all and I have one or two pictures to show, some of them aren't fit for general viewing (I don't really need to say more) This is at the start of the night, so were looking pretty good Lucy is very talented and plays the drums, piano, sings and can also play the ukulele!
