A couple of weekends ago I went for a walk up Mt Oxford. It takes about 7 hours, so it's not an easy climb by any means! But the view is worth it when you get to the top.
The birds you see in the photos are Keas, which are New Zealand's native parrot, and they are very naughty birds! They will dismantle your car, well at least the rubber seals around the car windows and steal anything not nailed down. They also are not shy with people! They hung around us the whole time we were at the top of the mountain.
Happy stitching everyone!

Congratulations on your finish. Love the look of red on white. You made great progress on all of your WIPs. Wonder what the fascination with the rubber on the car windows is for the birds. We have a few birds that will come in and take anything shiny, but none that actually pull things apart.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing finish :o) Well done!
ReplyDeleteI love your Athena and Lake Como is just gorgeous!
Not sure about your naughty parrots though!! We hired a Kea camper van for 2 weeks a couple of years ago, which is probably as close as I will get to a Kea!! :o)
Amazing view from Mt Oxford :o)
Congrats on a lovely finish. Love your pretty WIPS, and the views from your climb.
ReplyDeleteI love Keas and Kakas (and NZ birds in general). I had a Kaka sitting on my head and shoulders last week at a bird sanctuary. Very gentle. I don't think I'd trust a Kea though, they seem a little more cheeky!
lovely stitching from a stitcher in CHCH
