The Hangover and the Stitching

Well I didn't actually have a hangover, but that's what it felt like. I have been sick all week with a tummy bug and all day I would feel a bit sick, you know the feeling when your hungover and feel a bit seedy in the morning...Anyway I couldn't eat for 4 days because of the nasty effects but not so bad because I lost a bit of weight (I wasn't going to waste away in a week :)) However I do feel better now thank goodness, though that is NOT an excuse to eat whatever I like! I lost 1.5kg in 4 days and still have another 18.5kg to go...which will bring me down to my race weight - aim to lose it by January 2013.

I had Tuesday off work so I did get a lot of stitching done while watching my Larkrise to Candleford DVD (fantastic english period drama) I mostly worked on Tuscany Town mandala and getting along just fine.

Also continuing in my WIP projects, this project is Rose Lights by Chatelaine. Started this about 5 years ago, but this too has fallen by the wayside.


I did a bit of stitching shopping the other day too, and went to Needle Arts in Christchurch. This shop mostly has designers I have never heard of, but I did get this book...



I have been wanting this book ever since I saw it in the Inspirations magazine, who knows when I will ever get to do it, but the pictures are pretty! Its published by countrybumpkin.com.au who also do the Inspirations and Smocking magazines.

I have started biking to work again, it's about 15km and takes 40 minutes, so by the time I get to work I am awake! On the way from work I take the long way and do by training then, so with a bag on my back for extra resistance and a 2 hour training ride, it works quite well and when I get home I can relax. (Saves on petrol costs too)

    Hope you're feeling better quickly, but you making wonderful progress on your stitching, it's beautiful! Where did you find a dvd of Lark Rise? I just started watching it and am hooked! Thank you also for posting a pic of Home Sweet Home, I love it & cant wait to order one myself! Thank you for all the inspiration!! :D

      Thank you for your kind thoughts Kate, I brought Lark Rise here in NZ, they are easy to get and relatively cheap here. I have the first 2 seasons, but plan to get the whole series. If you have trouble getting them let me know and I can probably get them for you.

In March I went to Egypt. This had been on my list of places to visit for a long time, and I absolutely loved it! The view from the hotel room, you can imagine how excited I was when I saw that view! My Little French Obssesion

There hasn't been a whole lot of stitching going on since I finished Tuscany Town, I am now back at work so   even though that's good because I get a decent pay packet now, I don't have the time I use to for stitching! I have how ever been working on the Multiplication Sampler, and this actually stitches up quite fast because you only use one colour. Before- After- I have also brought another Chatelaine! The new addition is Lake Como I already have some fabric - 32-count white sparkles from Country Stitch, so all I need now is some threads... I have started a new project, it's called Je T'aime by Anette Eriksson, out of the February issue of the Cross Stitcher magazine. Fabric 28-count Linen DMC thread It uses 3 strands of thread so uses up a lot of thread rather quickly, but looks great! I will be making it into a cushion (one day...) Trophies and a Party

Well I had an interesting weekend, we had our prize giving for the Time Trial club and I won a trophy! Actually I didn't win it for this season, I won it last season but we didn't have a prize giving and no one had told me I had won it! Needless to say I was very pleased with myself and it was fun seeing MY name engraved on the trophy! Here I am feeling very pleased with myself... You may remember from my last post I was going to my friends 40th birthday party, well we had an awesome time and stayed up until 4am! A good time was had by all and I have one or two pictures to show, some of them aren't fit for general viewing (I don't really need to say more) This is at the start of the night, so were looking pretty good Lucy is very talented and plays the drums, piano, sings and can also play the ukulele!
